Privacy Policy

The short version: our games do not collect personal information. No analytics, no accounts, no adverts, no tracking. This page explains that in the detail Apple and the law require.

1. Summary

This is the plain-language version. It is not a substitute for the sections below, but if you only read one thing, read this.

  • We do not collect personal information in our games. Sunny Hollow: Camp Home contains no analytics software, no advertising software, no crash-reporting software and no account system.
  • We cannot identify you. We do not know who plays our games, how long they play, or where they are.
  • Your save game belongs to you. It is stored on your device and, if you enable it, in your own iCloud account. We cannot read it.
  • We have no advertising and no tracking. We do not request permission to track you, because there is nothing to track.
  • Children are welcome. The game is designed to be safe for players of all ages. See Children's privacy.

2. Who we are

88741.INC ("88741", "we", "us", "our") is an independent game development studio. We develop and publish our own games, including Sunny Hollow: Camp Home, and we operate this website at 88741.com.

For the purposes of the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation, 88741.INC is the data controller for any personal information described in this policy. For the purposes of the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended (CCPA/CPRA), we are a business.

Our contact details are in section 15. If anything in this policy is unclear, please ask us — we would rather explain it than have you guess.

3. What this policy covers

This policy applies to:

  • Our games, currently Sunny Hollow: Camp Home, on iPad and any future platform.
  • This website, 88741.com.
  • Any email correspondence between you and us.

It does not apply to third-party services you reach through our games or website. In particular, the App Store, iCloud, Game Center and any payment processing are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not ours. We link to them because links are useful, not because we endorse their data practices.

4. Data in Sunny Hollow: Camp Home

4.1 What the app stores

Everything the game saves lives on your device. It includes your valley layout, inventory, friendships, settings and preferences. If you enable iCloud, that same data is synchronised to your iCloud account so it can follow you between devices.

We do not operate a server that receives this data. We have no copy of your save, no access to it, and no ability to restore it for you.

4.2 What the app does not do

The shipping version of Sunny Hollow: Camp Home does not:

  • Contain any analytics, telemetry, attribution or advertising SDK.
  • Read or transmit your advertising identifier (IDFA).
  • Access your location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera or health data.
  • Require you to create an account, log in, or provide an email address.
  • Include social features, chat, or user-generated content visible to other players.
  • Transmit crash logs or diagnostic reports to us or to any third party.

We verify this before every release by inspecting the built binary and reviewing the network activity of the finished app on a clean device.

4.3 Information you give us voluntarily

If you email support, join a playtest, subscribe to our letter or send us a project brief, we receive whatever you choose to write. Typically that is your name, your email address and the contents of your message. We use it only to reply to you and to keep a record of the conversation.

5. Data handled by Apple, not by us

Because Sunny Hollow is distributed through the App Store and uses Apple services, Apple receives information about your use of the app. That data goes to Apple under Apple's own policy, and we never see it. Specifically:

  • App Store & purchases. Apple processes your payment and holds the transaction record. We receive only an anonymous confirmation that a purchase completed — never your name, card details or billing address.
  • iCloud. Save data you choose to sync is stored by Apple in your iCloud account and is encrypted in transit and at rest under Apple's terms.
  • Game Center. If you sign in, Apple associates your achievements and leaderboard scores with your Game Center profile. We see aggregate counts only.
  • App Store review & analytics. Apple provides us with aggregated, non-identifying statistics such as download counts and crash summaries. We cannot identify an individual player from these.

You can control each of these in iPadOS Settings. Disabling iCloud sync or signing out of Game Center will not affect your ability to play.

6. Children's privacy

Sunny Hollow: Camp Home is designed for players of all ages and is rated 4+ on the App Store. We take children's privacy seriously, and we have built the game so that the protections are structural rather than procedural — there is simply nothing in the app that could collect a child's data.

  • We knowingly collect no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
  • The app has no account creation, no social features, no chat, no user-generated content and no external links that identify the user.
  • The app contains no behavioural advertising and no analytics.
  • We do not use push notifications that could reveal personal information on a lock screen.
  • The only in-app purchase is a one-time full-game unlock, which is gated behind the App Store's own authentication and Ask to Buy parental controls.

Under the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and under Article 8 of the GDPR regarding children's consent, our position is simple: we collect nothing, so there is nothing to consent to and nothing to delete.

If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child has sent us personal information — for example, by emailing us directly — contact privacy@88741.com and we will delete it promptly. We do not knowingly retain information from children.

7. Third parties

Sunny Hollow: Camp Home contains no third-party SDKs of any kind — no analytics, no attribution, no advertising, no crash reporting, no social plug-ins.

This website, 88741.com, is a static site served without trackers. Two external resources are loaded:

  • Google Fonts — used to display the typefaces on this site. Google may log the request, including your IP address, under Google's Privacy Policy. This applies to the website only, never to the game.
  • Apple — the App Store badge and links direct to apple.com.

We do not sell, rent, trade or share personal information with anyone, and we have never done so. We have no advertising partners and no data brokers in our stack.

8. Tracking & advertising

We do not track you. Concretely:

  • Sunny Hollow does not request permission under Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, because it does not track.
  • We do not access your Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) and we do not build advertising profiles.
  • We do not use cross-site or cross-app tracking, fingerprinting, or persistent identifiers.
  • We do not participate in behavioural advertising networks, and we do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA/CPRA.

9. Purchases & payments

Sunny Hollow: Camp Home is free to try, with a single one-time in-app purchase that unlocks the full game. All payment processing is performed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive or store your payment card number, billing address or financial account details.

In-app purchases are protected by the device passcode and by the Ask to Buy and Screen Time controls your family may already use. Purchases can be restored free of charge at any time from the in-game Settings screen. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

10. Storage, retention & security

10.1 Game data

Your game save exists on your device and in your iCloud account. It is retained for as long as you keep it. Deleting the app removes the local copy; disabling iCloud or deleting the iCloud data removes the synced copy. Because we hold no copy at all, there is nothing for us to delete on request — but see section 12.

10.2 Email correspondence

We keep support and business emails for up to 24 months so that we can follow up on earlier conversations and improve the game. After that they are deleted. If you ask us to delete sooner, we will.

10.3 Security

We protect the limited information we hold with full-disk encryption on all studio devices, hardware-key-protected two-factor authentication on every account, least-privilege access to shared mailboxes, and a written incident response procedure. No system is perfectly secure, but we take proportionate care and we will notify you and the relevant authority if a breach ever affects you.

11. International transfers

Our games transfer no personal data, so the question does not arise for them. Email we receive may be stored on infrastructure located outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where we transfer personal data out of the UK or EEA, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism.

12. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we hold about you.
  • Access a copy of it.
  • Correct anything inaccurate.
  • Delete it.
  • Receive it in a portable format.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and of targeted advertising.
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise any of them, email privacy@88741.com with "Privacy request" in the subject line. We will respond within 30 days, or within the shorter period your local law requires. We will never ask you for a password, and we will never charge you for making a request.

In practice, because our games collect nothing, the only information we are likely to hold is an email you sent us. If you want it gone, say so and it is gone.

If you are in the UK or EEA and you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to your national data protection authority. If you are in California, you may contact the California Privacy Protection Agency.

13. Cookies on this website

88741.com is a static website. It sets no cookies, uses no local storage for tracking, and includes no third-party scripts beyond the font request described in section 7. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

Forms on this site do not submit to a server. They open a pre-filled email in your own mail application, so the message and your address never pass through our infrastructure until you choose to send it.

Do Not Track. We honour Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals by default, since we do not track at all.

14. Changes to this policy

If we ever change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and publish the new version at this URL. If a change materially reduces your privacy protections, we will also announce it in the game and, where we have your email, by direct message.

We keep previous versions on request so you can see what changed. Email privacy@88741.com if you would like one.

15. Contact us

Questions, requests and complaints are all welcome. We answer our own email.

You can also reach us through the contact page. We aim to reply to privacy requests within 30 days and to everything else within two business days.

A note on legal advice. This policy describes what we actually do, in plain English. It is not legal advice, and it is not a substitute for review by a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction — which we recommend every studio obtains before shipping.

Questions about any of this?

Send one email and a person who wrote this policy will answer it.
